Dr. Alexis Beatty

Dr. Beatty feels privileged to be a part of the UCSF community, where she has the opportunity to contribute to research, education, and clinical care in general cardiology. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family, cooking/baking, daily exercise on her stationary bike, and rooting for Duke basketball!

Dr. Ramzi Dudum, MD, MPH

Dr. Ramzi Dudum is a cardiologist who specializes in caring for patients with a history of heart disease and those at risk for heart disease. With a particular interest in prevention, he partners with his patients to personalize care plans that reflects their values and effectively addresses risk.

Dudum earned his medical degree at the George Washington University. He completed a residency in internal medicine at the Johns Hopkins Hospital, where he also earned a master of public health degree. He completed a fellowship in cardiovascular medicine at Stanford Medicine. He also completed the Stanford/Intermountain fellowship in population health, delivery science and primary care.

In research, Dudum draws on his background in population health to design systems and care pathways that can improve patients' cardiovascular health and longevity. He works to develop new methods and strategies for personalizing heart disease risk prediction. He frequently works with experts in artificial intelligence (AI) and implementation science to develop best practices for integrating AI into health care and research.

Michelle Murray

Supervisor and Registered Nurse

Michelle Murray MSN, RN has worked extensively with cardiac and pulmonary patients.  She believes individuals have the power to improve their health state.  Using diet, lifestyle, and behavior change, each person can make a fundamental shift toward wellness.  She received her nursing degree from Samuel Merritt College and completed training at UCSF School of Nursing.  Recently she completed the ADAPT Health Coach Training through the Kresser Institute.  Health coaches mobilize motivation, help individuals own their visions and goals, and establish new habits and a lifestyles that promote improved health and wellness.

 

 

Sarah Maloney

Registered Nurse

Sarah Maloney, MSN, RN, DipACLM, NC-BC, CEN

With over 20 years of nursing experience, I bring a comprehensive background in healthcare and wellness. I hold an undergraduate degree in Exercise and Sport Science and a Master’s degree in Nursing, along with professional board certifications in Emergency Nursing (Board Certification for Emergency Nursing), Lifestyle Medicine (American College of Lifestyle Medicine), and Nurse Coaching (American Holistic Nursing Credentialing Corporation). Also, as a certified facilitator of the Full Plate Living (Ardmore Institute of Health) program, I guide clients toward sustainable lifestyle dietary changes, fostering long-term well-being. My experience working with individuals in cardiac rehabilitation has allowed me to support, educate, coach, and care for patients while fostering their understanding of the root causes of their disease processes. I am passionate about empowering individuals to become active participants in their wellness and healthcare journey. 

David Janke

Exercise Physiologist

David Janke is an ACSM-certified exercise physiologist and is passionate about empowering patients to take control of their health through education and exercise prescription.  He received his Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and Master of Science in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Exercise Physiology at San Jose State University.  He has extensive experience treating a variety of patients and conditions, and with his background in exercise science, uses his comprehensive knowledge and skills to promote health and wellness through quality movement.

 

 

Vanessa Valle

Exercise Physiologist

Vanessa Valle is an exercise physiologist who loves to hear her patient's life story. She is determined to help them achieve their physical activity goal whether it's returning to work, playing with grandchildren or hiking through the redwoods.

 

 

Angela Fong

Registered Dietitian

Angela Fong is a registered dietitian and board certified nutrition support clinician who offers personalized nutrition counseling in preventive cardiology.  She is a native of Northern California, where she received a Bachelor of Science in Dietetics from San Francisco State University.  Upon completing her dietetic internship, Angela joined UCSF in 2012 as a clinical dietitian and internship preceptor.  Angela has a passion for helping individuals feel their best by optimizing health through simple and sustainable nutrition and lifestyle changes.

 

 

 

Rose Pavlakos

Pharmacist

Rose Pavlakos is a clinical pharmacist within the Division of Cardiology.  She also serves as volunteer faculty and assistant clinical professor at UCSF School of Pharmacy.  She is Board Certified in Ambulatory Care and received her Doctorate of Pharmacy degree from the University of New Mexico then went on to complete 2 years of post-graduate training at The Ohio State University.  Her primary role in cardiac rehabilitation is to provide education and medication management for our patients.
